Sunday 5 June at 17h15 - 66 Minutes/M6
A report from Mélissa Theuriau
Saqer spends his life in tens of underground meters. He is one of these « mole kids » who escort every day foods, medicines, cigarettes and sometimes weapons in the famous tunnels of Gaza. To hold out, he takes Tramadol, a medicine against pain which prevents suffering. It is in fact a real drug in which most of teenagers who work in tunnels become addicted.
Mélissa Theuriau was able to go to this Palestinian territory under embargo, where young people survive as they can. And sometimes die.
Mazen, 14 years old, risks also daily his life: he is in recycling in the border zone, under the permanent threat of automatic machine guns and tanks. But he has no choice.
Gaza Strip, 40 kilometers long and in which pile up 1,5 million people, has an economy totally suffocated by the blockade of which it is the object.
Punchy report on these children of the war.
