Meeting, with Marine Magder.

10 o'clock in the morning, middle of the week, in a luxurious Paris hotel we meet Mélissa...

Mélissa Theuriau - Vuarnet

« To learn, discover and share: my daily motivation! »

At nearly 28 years old, you are already recognised as a key figure in news, how do you deal with this fame?
It is new and could be fleeting!! I'm aware of this, which allows me to move forward without losing my head. To learn, discover and share is my daily motivation. Little by little, I'm growing, far from the Parisian jet-set scene.

You now work for the LCI morning edition. Last year you presented Travel Chronicle. What motivates you?
Life (laughs)! More seriously, I love meeting new people. I love simplicity and truth, the enthusiasm of people, the respect of values... The role of passing on what is in the news, in whatever way. And associating the studio and the field stops me from getting frustrated.

At the moment, you represent a famous brand of sunglasses. Why this role?
I grew up in Grenoble, in the heart of the Alps. As a young skier, I wore Vuarnet sunglasses, like my parents. When the brand contacted me, it seemed natural to meet with them.

What persuaded you?
Again it's a question of a meeting of minds!
I like the values which Vuarnet represents such as authenticity and performance and not principally fashion! Vuarnet ia a small French company and it really is the small village of brave Gauls against the Romans... There are only big Italian companies as competitors.

Currently, Vuarnet is generally represented by sportsmen and women. Why you?
But I am sporty (laughs)! I feel that their approach goes beyond that. It's more the idea of challenge or competition. Notions which we find in all areas of life! It's certainly one of the ways in which I approach my work.
